Heart Mountain Dressage Club, Wyoming was formed in 1989 for the purpose of promoting dressage in the Big Horn Basin and encouraging a high standard of knowledge and accomplishment in the discipline.  The club is comprised of a small but dedicated group of dressage enthusiasts and supporters.  HMDC is a Group Member Organization (GMO) of the United States Dressage Federation and is a nonprofit 501(c)3 Corporation in the State of Wyoming.

The club offers its members and the community educational opportunities through riding clinics and schooling shows.  In addition, members can learn more at monthly meetings through lectures and videos.  Guests are always welcome at club functions.  HMDC's monthly newsletter with it's calendar keeps members apprised of other dressage activities in the region, for both educational opportunities and competitions.  HMDC also maintains a DVD library available for check out by members at our meetings.  The club has been instrumental in raising public awareness of the benefits of classical English riding, its usefulness to all forms of horsemanship, and avenues for pursuing dressage in our area.

Monthly club meetings take place on the first Tuesday of every month except the month of July.  Meeting places are usually The Sunset House in Cody and The Red Zone in Powell.  Check the monthly newsletter for meeting locations.  All meetings start at 6:00PM unless otherwise stated in the newsletter.

HMDC holds at least two annual schooling shows, usually one in the Spring and one in the Fall (and more recently a Summer Show as well).  Tests offered include the USDF Introductory Level Tests, the USEF Training Level through 4th Level Tests, USEF Western Dressage Tests, as well as a Cavaletti Test and the Prix Caprilli Test that includes jumps.  The fall show sometimes offers a costume class.  Informal attire and Western tack are allowed, so that anyone can participate without needing a lot of Dressage specific clothing and tack.  HMDC shows are informal and FUN, but great practice for a recognized show as well.

HMDC usually has a Christmas Party sometime in December which is held in the Cody, WY area.
